Stuart is the county seat of Martin County, a city of about 17,400 people at the 2020 census, set on the St. Lucie River a short run from the Indian River Lagoon and the Atlantic. It was incorporated in 1914 and in 1957 formally took the title Sailfish Capital of the World. The Stuart Sailfish Club, founded in 1941, still runs five tournaments a year, and fishing charters and marine businesses are a big part of how the area earns a living.
Most traffic moves on US-1 and Kanner Highway (SR 76), with I-95 picking up at the Kanner exit. Downtown is built around Osceola Street, Flagler Avenue and the Riverwalk, and around Confusion Corner, where Colorado Avenue, Dixie Highway, Ocean Boulevard, Osceola Street and the FEC tracks all meet in one tangle. Seacoast Bank started here in 1926 and keeps its headquarters on Colorado Avenue. Martin County Schools and county government are two of the largest employers.

Printing for Stuart Boat Shows, Tournaments and Downtown Events
The Stuart calendar is full, and a lot of it needs printing. The Stuart Boat Show opens the year in January with more than 200 exhibitors, and it is owned by the Marine Industries Association of the Treasure Coast.
