Jupiter Inlet Colony is one of the smallest towns in Palm Beach County: about 405 residents on roughly a fifth of a square mile at the south tip of Jupiter Island, on the north bank of the Jupiter Inlet. It was platted in 1958 and incorporated in 1959, and the whole town fits along a handful of streets such as Beacon Lane, Colony Road, Ocean Drive and Lighthouse Drive, with Beach Road (County Road 707) running through.
With no commercial district, orders from the Colony come from households rather than storefronts. Jupiter Inlet Colony looks across the inlet at the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse, completed in 1860 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. That view shows up in a lot of design ideas: lighthouse outlines on shirts, inlet line art on tumblers and simple patches on hats.
