Resolution Pro FAQs
How is this different from just resizing an image in Photoshop?
A normal resize just stretches pixels — the result is blurry or blocky. Resolution Pro uses a neural AI model trained on millions of images to reconstruct genuine detail: sharp edges, readable text, smooth color transitions. The output looks like it was scanned at high resolution, not just blown up.
Does my image get uploaded anywhere?
No. The AI engine is downloaded once to your browser (about 60 MB) and runs entirely on your machine. Your artwork is never sent to a server for processing. The only network transaction is the $5 payment — the actual image stays local.
What kinds of images work best?
Low-res logos, screenshots, web-res graphics, and old photos that are too small for print. It performs best on art with well-defined colors and edges. Very noisy or highly compressed JPEGs may need the sharpen/denoise options to get the best result.
What does background removal actually do?
It strips out baked white, black, or gradient backgrounds, cleans anti-aliasing halos, and removes ghost pixels around your subject — leaving a clean transparent PNG ready for print. Three modes: Auto (works for most logos), Logo / Text (high-precision edge for flat art), and Photo (AI matting for complex subjects like hair or fur).
What's the difference between the $5 option and Pro?
The $5/file option is pay-as-you-go — you get one clean, watermark-free download per purchase. Resolution Pro ($99 one-time) gives you unlimited Resolution Pro downloads forever. Want all three apps? What output format does Resolution Pro produce?
Full-resolution PNG — with transparency when background removal is on, or solid when it's off. You can choose 2×, 4×, or set a custom target width. Maximum output is 8000 × 8000 px. Color mode is sRGB, suitable for DTF, sticker, and screen printing workflows.
Can I use Resolution Pro to prep artwork for DTF gang sheets?
Absolutely — that's one of its primary use cases. Upscale your artwork to the right DPI for your gang sheet width, remove the background so the white underbase is clean, then use DTF Prep Studio to add your halftone tone plates and export the final plates. Or build your gang sheet directly and let us handle the printing.
