Stuart earned the Sailfish Capital title in 1941, the same year the Stuart Sailfish Club was incorporated, when anglers caught more than 5,000 sailfish off the coast. The club still runs a Light Tackle Tournament, a Ladies Tournament, a Junior Angler Tournament and the KDW Tournament, and every one of those teams wants gear with its boat name on it.
