Loxahatchee is the unincorporated country west of Royal Palm Beach and north of Wellington, and it is not the same place as the Town of Loxahatchee Groves. Lots here run from 1 to 20 acres, a lot of homes sit on well and septic, and the Indian Trail Improvement District keeps up the roads and canals across The Acreage, which alone counted 41,654 people in the 2020 census. The area started as the Royal Palm Beach Colony, sold in one acre lots to people who worked the Callery-Judge and Mecca citrus groves. The groves are gone, but the room to spread out is still why people move here.
