Acrylic and Wood Signs With Raised Lettering for Offices and Storefronts
Custom acrylic signs for offices and storefronts in West Palm Beach and the rest of Palm Beach County can now be UV printed with raised lettering in one piece, instead of cutting and mounting separate letters. At Arnold Prints in Westlake, Florida, we print full color logos directly onto acrylic and wood, then build up clear coat to create dimensional text and logos up to about 7 mm high. The result is a sign that looks layered and premium, with no minimum and no plates.
Whether you need a lobby logo sign, a reception desk plaque, door and suite signs, or a counter sign for a storefront, this guide covers materials, finishes, sizes and how to plan a sign that looks right on your wall.
What raised lettering means on a UV printer
Traditional dimensional signs are made by cutting letters from acrylic, metal or foam and mounting them one by one. That still has its place for large exterior signage. For indoor signs and smaller pieces, UV printing offers a simpler path.
Our xTool O1 Omni Dual-Head UV printer lays down color, white ink and clear coat in layers, curing each one instantly with UV light. By stacking clear coat in the shape of your letters or logo, it builds real height you can see and feel. Add a gloss finish on the raised areas over a matte background and the lettering catches the light as people walk past.
Materials for office and storefront signs
Clear acrylic
The modern office standard. We can print on the back of clear acrylic so the front stays smooth and glossy, giving a glass like depth. White ink behind the color keeps it opaque and bright. Mounted with standoffs, clear acrylic floats off the wall and looks crisp in any lobby.
Frosted and colored acrylic
Frosted acrylic softens the look and hides fingerprints. Black, white and colored acrylic make bold, high contrast signs, with the white underbase letting bright logos sit cleanly on dark sheets.
Wood
Wood signs suit coastal, rustic and hospitality brands: cafes, boutiques, salons, real estate offices and barns. Full color prints with raised lettering on maple, birch or walnut look handcrafted, and laser engraving can add borders or details.
Metal
Aluminum panels give a clean, durable, industrial look for door plates and directional signs.
Sizes and what to expect
Our flat print area goes up to 13 x 16.5 inches. That covers the signs most offices actually need:
- Reception desk and counter signs
- Door, suite and office name plates
- Conference room and department signs
- Small lobby logo panels
- Hours, Wi-Fi and payment signs for storefront counters
- Wayfinding and directional signs
For larger wall graphics, banners and exterior signage, we offer wide format printing as well, so you can keep the look consistent across everything.

Planning a sign that looks right
Measure the wall, then the sign
Tape a piece of paper the size of the sign to the wall and look at it from the door. Signs that look big on a screen often look small in a room. If the sign needs to be larger than our flat area, consider a multi panel layout or ask about wide format.
Prioritize readability
For door and wayfinding signs, legibility beats decoration. High contrast colors, bold sans serif fonts and generous spacing help people find the room. Raised lettering adds a tactile cue and looks sharp.
Match your brand exactly
Send vector logo files and your brand colors. UV printing reproduces logos in full color at up to 720 x 1440 dpi, so the sign matches your business cards, website and vehicle graphics.
Choose mounting hardware
Standoffs make acrylic float off the wall. Double sided mounting tape suits lightweight door signs. Easel backs work for counter signs. Tell us how it will be mounted and we will drill or prepare it accordingly.

Caring for acrylic and wood signs
Indoor UV printed signs need very little upkeep. Dust acrylic with a soft microfiber cloth and use plain water or a cleaner made for acrylic. Avoid paper towels and ammonia based glass cleaners, which can scratch or haze acrylic over time. Back printed clear acrylic is especially low maintenance because the ink sits behind the face of the sheet. For wood signs, a dry or slightly damp cloth is all you need. Keep signs out of direct, all day sun through a window when possible, since strong sunlight changes natural wood over time and can affect the look of any printed surface.
Frequently Asked Questions
How large can a UV printed sign be?
Our flat print area is up to 13 x 16.5 inches. For larger signage we offer wide format printing or a multi panel design.
How does raised lettering work?
The printer stacks clear coat in the shape of your letters, building height up to about 7 mm. Most lettering looks great at one to two millimeters.
Can you match my exact logo colors?
Send vector files and your brand colors and we will match them as closely as possible. We send a proof before printing.
Is there a minimum order for signs?
No. A single sign is fine. If you need a set of matching door plates, the per piece price drops as quantity goes up.
How do I get my sign once it is printed?
We prepare signs with the mounting hardware you choose, and local customers can pick up at our Westlake shop. Customers in Broward and Miami-Dade can choose shipping or pick up.
